My name is Margaret Wilson, and I’m 76 years old. I’ve been a widow for twelve years, and I never imagined I would fall in love again.
Three weeks ago, I met a handsome 32-year-old man named Daniel on Facebook. He was charming, polite, and made me feel beautiful for the first time in years.
Our friendship quickly turned into a romantic relationship.
Every morning, Daniel sent me loving messages. Every evening, we spoke on the phone for hours.
He called me his beautiful Margaret and promised that age meant nothing to him.
For the first time since my husband’s death, I felt wanted.
Last night, he asked me to send him a picture.
“Margaret, sweetheart, I don’t care about your age. I just want to see the beautiful woman who has stolen my heart.”
I smiled, put on my favorite blue nightdress, sat on the edge of my bed, and took a photograph.
I sent it to him at 9:40 PM.
He immediately replied:
“You’re absolutely beautiful. Now I can finally do what I’ve been planning.”
I thought he meant arranging our first meeting.
But exactly twenty minutes later, someone began pounding on my front door.
“POLICE! OPEN THE DOOR!”
Three officers stood outside. One of them was holding a printed copy of my photograph.
“Margaret Wilson, you’re under arrest!”
My legs nearly gave way.
“Arrested? For sending a photograph? What have I done?”
The oldest officer looked at me with a strange expression.
“Ma’am, that young man isn’t who you think he is. And your photograph was just used in something extremely serious.”
I stared at him in disbelief.
“Daniel is my boyfriend! We’re in love!”
The officer shook his head.
“Ma’am, your boyfriend has been using you to commit financial crimes.”
They took me to the police station.
