COLUMBIA, S.C. (WACH) \u2014\u00a0<\/span>Three people were arrested for the abuse of two infants under the age of one, authorities said.<\/p>\n

Deputies were dispatched to a Columbia hospital on January 31 after medical staff reported signs of physical abuse on the infants.<\/p>\n

The parents, Amos R. Mobley Jr., 24, and Daija Benjamin, 23, were later joined as suspects by the infants\u2019 paternal grandmother, 62-year-old Anita Hingleton-Mobley, a former Richland One employee.<\/p>\n

Each person faces two counts of inflicting great bodily injury upon a child, according to the\u00a0Richland County Sheriff\u2019s Department.<\/p>\n

During questioning, investigators found inconsistencies in the parents\u2019 statements, leading them to be suspects.<\/p>\n

Officials said warrants were issued on February 24 for all three individuals following the investigation.<\/p>\n

The suspects agreed to turn themselves in on March 3 at the Alvis S. Glenn Detention Center.<\/p>\n

The infants remained under medical supervision but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.<\/p>\n
